Some sessions don’t need much, just a country boy, an open field, and maybe a bow in hand. That was exactly the case with Caden.
We kept things simple and true to who he is, nothing overdone, nothing forced. Just real, laid back photos that felt like him. That’s exactly what I aim for with every senior guy session.
Caden’s session was out here at the ranch, where we had all the good stuff at our fingertips: golden fields, weathered textures, a few favorite spots I save just for these kinds of sessions, and that warm fall light that shows up when you least expect it.
He showed up in his camo, his Carhartt, and his confidence, and we rolled with it. My personal favorites are the bow shots. There’s just something about capturing a senior doing what they love that makes the entire session.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned photographing senior guys, it’s this: let them be comfortable. Whether that means faded denim and boots, a baseball cap, or their favorite hunting gear… that’s what they’ll feel good in. When they feel good, they look natural and confident in front of the camera.
With Caden, we didn’t need a bunch of props or trendy backdrops. The ranch and a few great outfit changes were more than enough. The chair in the woods, the barn wall, the wide-open field, all of it let him be in the moment and comfortable.
Let’s be honest, most senior guys aren’t exactly counting down the days until their photo session. But these sessions aren’t just for the yearbook, they’re for the mamas (trust me), and for the memories. They’re for freezing this moment in time, the quiet confidence, the muddy boots, the kid who’s about to take on the world.
It doesn’t have to be a big production. A couple of outfit changes, a familiar place, and someone behind the lens who gets it.
If you’re a senior guy (or a mom of one) who wants a laid back session that feels like home, I’d love to help you plan it. Whether it’s out here on the ranch or somewhere special to your family, we’ll keep it simple, stress-free, and completely true to who he is.
Now booking Class of 2026 and early Class of 2027. Let’s grab your date before they fill up, and make sure your senior photos feel just right.
