Top 10 Senior Session Posing Tips

1. Relax and Be Yourself: The most important tip for posing confidently is to relax and be yourself. Embrace your unique personality and let your natural beauty shine through in your photos. And trust me we're going to have alot of fun! My main goal is to make sure you're relaxed and comfortable so you can just enjoy our time together, so your true personality is bound to shine through!

2. Don't Stress: There's no need for you to practice in the mirror your poses or smile before your session. In fact I recommend you don't do this at all. We want to capture you in natural moments where you're genuinely happy and smiling. Practiced smiles and poses tend to just look stiff and fake.... not what we're going for!

3. Stand Tall and Proud: Good posture can instantly make you appear more confident. Stand tall with your shoulders back and chest out... no matter how silly you feel! I promise it'll look good in your photos.

4. Engage Your Core: Engage your core muscles to help you stand tall and look sleek and slender. This will also help you feel more stable and balanced while posing.

5. Relax Your Shoulders: Avoid tensing up your shoulders, which can make you appear stiff and uncomfortable in photos. Instead, relax your shoulders and let them fall naturally but slightly pulled back to create a more relaxed and natural look.

6. Find Your Best Angle: Experiment with different angles to find your best side. Try turning slightly to the side or tilting your head to create dimension and interest in your photos.

7. Use Your Hands Wisely: Pay attention to what you're doing with your hands during your photoshoot. Avoid clenching your fists or letting your hands hang awkwardly by your sides. Instead, find natural and relaxed poses for your hands, such as placing them on your hips, in your pockets, or gently touching your face or hair. And trust me, I'll help you with your hands, I know hands are the hardest thing to know what to do with.

8. Smile Naturally: A genuine smile can instantly brighten up your photos and will ensure you look like you! Avoid practicing your smile before your session, I promise we'll have so much fun you'll be smiling and laughing naturally during your entire session! (I'm pretty funny, if I do say so myself)

9. Your Eyes: Keep your gaze soft and relaxed, and avoid staring directly into the camera lens. Instead, look slightly above or below the lens for a more flattering look during a more serious pose. For all the other type of poses, looking directly at me will work just fine!

10. Trust Your Photographer: Last but not least, trust your photographer to guide you and provide direction during your session! ;) They have the experience and expertise to help you look your best and capture stunning photos that you'll love.
